Forrest Gump

Sammanfattning

Forrest Gump is about a boy who had a crocked spine, and a lack of intelligence. The movie is about Forrest, and all the things that happens along his eventful life. Under his time of living, he did a lot of things. Most of them quite spontaneous, like he says himself, "life is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you're gonna get". I think that the meaning of that is that you never know what's going to happen, you never know what you're gonna get or what things you might face.

So, the things Forrest did. Let's start with when he first realized that he could run: Forrest was a young boy, quite bullied. He had only one friend, Jenny. One day three boys in his age started to chase him, and Forrest ran. Jenny told him, "run Forrest, run", and he did. He ran so his rails supporting his legs fell of, and he continued running. One day, when he was just a little bit older, boys started chasing him again. This time, with a car. Once again, Forrest started running, as fast as he could. And after that a lot of things developed. He started playing for the collage football team, and he did really good. He became a big star, and he got to meet the president. After that he joined the army, and got sent to Vietnam. When he got home he got a medal for the job he had done, he also met a friend called Bubba. After that Forrest invested in a shrimping boat with lieutenant Dan, because he promised Bubba that, who also died in Vietnam. When he was out on the boat with Dan, they got a phone call. His mom was sick, she was dying. So, Forrest returned home. His mom died, and after that Forrest just stayed home.

One day, the love of his life, Jenny, came home to stay with Forrest. Forrest was so happy, until the day she left. And then, Forrest started to run. He ran across the hole federal state, in others words, hole Alabama. Jenny then saw Forrest on tv and after just a few days he got a letter, from Jenny. She wanted him to come see her, so he did. And he found out that Jenny was pregnant, and can you guess who the father was? Yes, it was Forrest. And she named the son after his dad. Jenny and Forrest moved in with Forrest in his big house and after just a few months or maybe years, Jenny got sick. She died, and in the end there was only Forrest and Forrest left. But they did good, and they lived happily ever after...

Facts about the artists
The song was originally recorded by Gene Autry, it has also been recorded by several artists, for example Nat Kin Cole, Ray Conniff, The Cocteau Twins and The Beach Boys. I choose to write some facts about Nat King Cole because he is the only one of these i know about, I'm also going to write some facts about the writers of this song.

Nat King Cole, born by the name Nathaniel Adams Coles was born in Montgomery, Alabama the 17th mars year 1919. Nat King Cole was famous as a jazzpianist and a jazzsinger, he usually sings very calm songs, one dispensation is this song "Frosty the Snowman, which is a quite lively song.

The song was written by Walter E. "Jack" Rollins and Steve Nelson. Walter E. "Jack" Rollins was an american musician of Keyser, West Virginia, he also has co-written many country songs for artists such as Hank Snow, George Jones and Eddy Arnold. He died on January the first, 1973.

The song was co-written by Steve Nelson, who was a disc jockey, radio producer and a singer. He has co-written a number of songs with Jack Rollins, including Frosty the Snowman, and also Here Comes Peter Cottontail.

What happened during the 50:s?
Of course it was happening a lot of things during the 50:s, like the korean war, Josef Stalin died, but the thing that i choose to write about is the Hungarian  Revolution. The revolution took place during 1956, the revolution was a spontaneous revolt against the government of the Hungarian People's Republic. The revolution was at first just a student demonstration, but it then attracted many people during the student's march trough central Budapest towards the Parliament Building. They were using a huge van with loud speakers, calling out to the people on the streets.

During the the 50:s the spirit was quite bright, but I also think it was a time of some kind of depression. The second world war was over and a lot of countries was totally destroyed, a lot of people had died. But now was the time, out of all times, a time to believe in the future.

The rock music became very popular, especially within the youth culture.

Orphan Black

Orphan Black is about a girl who has a doppelganger. So in the first 27 minutes Sarah, who is the girl that everything is about, steps out of a train and in the next minute she sees a girl on the platform. She is approaching the girl slowly, when she is close enough the girl turns around and they now stand face to face. Sarah can see that they are very alike, it's just like she is standing in front of herself. And then suddenly, the girl turns around and jump right in front of the train. Sarah is of course very chocked, but she quickly put herself together and she sees the bag that the girl left on the platform. She steals it and run away. Then she is meeting up with an old friend and she is going trough her bag, she finds her wallet. The girls name is Beth Childs, and she got an idea. She is going to take Beth's personality,and steal her money.

So far the dad has been on a tour with his band and they got discovered by a record label, the son, Charlie has just finished school and his grades were the best! The day after he played an important hockey game, his dad was not there so he got disappointed.

The youngest child, Maria, wakes up in the middle of the night with extreme headache. The worst headache she has ever felt. So they drive to the hospital, and after some hours they can tell that she possibly has rabies.

So they found out that Maria actually do have rabies, and that they will have to put an end to her life. So they shut of all the machines that makes her alive, and now she's gone. And for a long time the family is in some kind of depression, Maria's siblings leaves for school and her parents keeps on working. But one day, the father goes in to Maria's room and reads her diary. He reeds it all, but he keeps something in his memory. Maria's dream was for the kids all over the world to be well and healthy, so her father starts thinking. Maybe he is going to built a children's hospital? I guess I'll find out next time..

Denna lektionen ska jag kolla ungefär 20 minuter på filmen och sen skriva en sammanfattning
The project of building a Children's hospital is now in action, but they encounter some problems. Some economy problems, the government's approval, and also some problems within the family. At first, John (the father), is very quiet and don't talk to his family much about his project. The mother and his other children gets enough. The mother, Johns wife, gets some kind of breakdown and it makes John realize that he have to make time to his family to. So his wife starts to get involved in the project to, she starts to do some fundraising with Bruce, a man who helps them with the project. They also invite the other children home, except Steph. She i somewhere with her so called boyfriend, and the rest of the family has no idea how she is. Anyway, during the dinner the family starts fighting. Their son keeps telling them that building a hospital is not going to help John getting over Maria's death, and that's all I've seen this time.

They have solved the economy problems, and now the only thing is to push it trough the government. And solve some family problems... John starts to make time to his family, and it's good for them. They start to find back to each other, and they become a loving family again. Now the only thing is for the government to accept their project, and finally they do. So the building can start  

Transportation

I love sailing, so i choose the boat as my favorite transportation. It does no harm to the environment and it's very relaxing. The cons are that when it's bad wind it don't go very fast by sailing, then you might use the motor and that can be bad for the environment.

Driving lets out a lot of fumes, so i choose the car as my worst transportation. I know it's very simple to just take the car and drive where ever you want, but it is very very bad for the environment. Nearly everyone drives a car, so it lets out very much fumes.

Har du tagit ansvar och jobbat bra?
- Ja, jag tycker att jag har tagit ansvar och jobbat så bra jag kan. Men jag tycker att det skulle vara roligt med något lite mer utmanande, och jag personligen lär mig inte så jätte mycket av detta sättet att jobba.

Vad har blivit bättre på?
- Jag tycker personligen inte att jag har blivit bättre på att prata eftersom vi inte har pratat så mycket på engelska, men däremot läsa och lyssna har jag blivit lite bättre på. Och utökat mitt ordförråd.

Vill du jobba mer under eget ansvar? 
- På sätt och vis är det ganska bra eftersom man lär sig att ta bättre ansvar, men jag tycker personligen att jag lär mig mer när det är lite mer bundna uppgifter.

Eng: This gorgeous little baby gorilla has not had the easiest start to life. After being born by an emergency caesarian, she then had to have a critical operation for a collapsed lung.

A team of veterinary staff from San Diego Zoo had to take the unusual step of asking for help from human neonatal specialists from the University of California.

“I never anticipated that I would have to care for a gorilla, but all of my work that I’ve done with human babies is identical to what I’m doing with this baby. There are maybe two things that differentiates her. It’s that she’s a lot stronger when she grabs your hand, it’s very difficult to release her grip, because she’s used to that, that’s her instinct to grab her mom. And she can grab you with both her hands and her feet. And so, that’s been particularly troublesome, trying to sometimes do procedures and exams on her, but otherwise, she behaves very well.”

Luckily, she seems to have come through fighting, and is making a speedy recovery.

Mommy gorilla is doing surprisingly well, too. Despite the complicated birth and surgery, she’s already up and about in her usual habitat. Keepers hope to be able to reunite the baby with her family when she’s strong enough.

Mamma gorillan mår förvånansvärt bra också.Trots den komplicerade födelsen och operationen, är hon redan uppe och vandrar omkring i hennes vanliga livsmiljö. Ägarna hoppas att de kan återförena bebisen med hennes familj när hon är stark nog.
